Non Employees is the creative umbrella for Quinsy Gario’s work. He has a background in performance poetry and media studies. Based in the Netherlands but from the Dutch Caribbean his interests are transnational. In 2011 he became well known for his art work Zwarte Piet Is Racisme (Black Pete Is Racism) and in 2012 he launched the media initiative Roet In Het Eten which produced a radio show and a talkshow. He is a graduate of the Masters of Artistic Research from the Royal Academy of Art The Hague and currently a fellow at BAK Utrecht.
